South London Stained Glass - Windows and Leaded Lights

Specialist designer, maker, restorer & installer of leaded glass for windows & doors using traditional methods & materials

About our stained glass service

Based in South London until mid-2017, we  relocated to Somerset, and continue to work in South and South West London on certain projects.

I have been making and fitting stained glass for windows and doors in South London since 2005, and recreationally since around 2000. Based in South London until mid-2017, we relocated to Somerset, and continue to work in South and South West London on certain projects.
Do feel free to enquire, we may not be able to help with smaller repair work. I dont do the 'hard sell' and aim to make the whole process enjoyable and rewarding for us and for you.  I am not a glass painter, so if your project requires a lot of painted details (which does drive up the cost considerably), we may not be able to help, although I do work with glass painters from time to time, usually for smaller specific detailed elements in a larger design.

Design, make and install

I design, make, repair and fit panels of stained glass and leaded lights, in the traditional manner, and have been doing this since around 2000.  I don’t make imitation panels, where the lead and colour is applied to the surface of an entire sheet of glass. I don’t make or fit entire windows (i.e. the frame etc. that is attached to the fabric of the building), but do fit the leaded panels I make within old and new frames.  Do be aware of Building Regulation requirements if you are replacing an entire door and frame, window sets, etc.

Works everywhere

My designs are usually prepared on computer, using software specific to stained glass work, and this allows visuals for clients as well as the full size working drawings from the same file.  I have many design and design elements saved, but most jobs involve some bespoke design. More about design.

My bespoke leaded panels are hand made with individually cut pieces of plain, textured and coloured glass, and lead. They are fully weather proof, for use as normal external glazing as well as interior decoration. I do make for incorporation within double glazed units.  My repair and restoration work aims to fully respect the original work, the building as well as the client's needs.

Building Regulations

Building Regulations can apply to various aspects of new glazing, including thermal efficiency, safety related to breakage and the spread of fire, security in terms of preventing break-ins.  Listed building have their own issues.  We aim to be fully compliant with all regulatory requirements.  Listed buildings are not outside the scope of Building Regulations.  Take advice from the relevant Local Authority Officer (Buildings Inspector/Contol Officer, Historic Buildings Officer, etc. For larger projects you might consider appointing your own approved Officer.  More
